You can read my story over here. My name is Lani (referred to as “Lu” in the Elm City Dad blog). I am married to the most wonderful guy ever- Chris, and we live in New Haven, CT. I miss my baby Silas with all my heart, but I am also ready to be a parent to a healthy, living, breathing child. The journey continues here….

Hi Lani,
I wanted you to know that I think about you, Chris and Silas every day. Congratulations on your new blog – I think it’s wonderful you and Chris each have such a gift with words to share your lives, love, grief and overall journey with us. I hope this outlet helps you as much as it helps those who read it.
Wishing you much love, happiness and good health.
Love,
Tina

Lani,
I am so sorry for your loss. I would love to “talk” to you, our story is remarkably similar to yours. Whenever you are ready, I would welcome an email. All my best,
SJ

Lani, the similarities in our stories are eerie, though I am so much newer to this journey than you. I am so sorry that Silas is not here with you.
Our baby Otis died September 13 of this year, also after a traumatic labor and a shoulder dystocia in delivery.
I am also a yoga teacher. In Oakland. So close to where you held your Yoga for Kids training, I imagine. I assume I probably even had heard about it through the studio.
I am turning 39 on next Friday.
One of my nicknames is lu. (long story)
As I find my way through your history and your blog, I find myself nodding a few too many times at all the similarities in our stories.
If you ever feel up to it, I’d love to email with you.
Again, I’m so sorry about Silas.
love and light,
sarah
